Named after a mythological character that could take on many shapes and forms, the Proteus Versipack (#0402) provides a herculean 285 cu. in. of organized storage space and can be worn like a fannypack, hand-carried, piggy-backed onto MAXPEDITION™ backpacks, or integrated onto ALICE or MOLLE webbing. Equipped with compression straps that snap into the integral handle to secure contents and three rows of nylon webbing attachment points to accommodate modular accessories, this is one piece of gear you must have before setting forth on your odyssey.

The Maxpedition™ Fatboy Versipack (#0403) is more than a durable, ergonomic shoulder sling pack; it is the state-of-the-art portable gear organizer that provides secured containment for and rapid accessibility of daily equipment. The versatile main compartment has a huge 156 cu. in. of space with a water-resistant storm collar that can be deployed by pulling a cord-locked drawstring. An array of integral fixed-position external pouches retains and indexes individual pieces of gear while two sets of nylon webbing anchors accommodate MAXPEDITION’s modular expansion accessories such as the CP-L Radio Holster. Each Fatboy comes with a tactile non-slip shoulder pad providing great comfort during extended use.

The MAXPEDITION Fatboy S-Type Versipack (#0408) was originally designed for Search and Rescue work, the S-type allows for the additional attachment of the CP-L Radio Holster (#0102) or any other MAXPEDITION accessory pocket in place of the cellphone pocket on the standard Fatboy. In addition, the Fatboy S-Type rides on the left side of the body filling the need for a 'lefty' Fatboy and a grab-and-go gear bag that does not hinder the quick drawing of a sidearm on the right hip. The following are the major differences between the S-type and the standard Fatboy:
(1) The footprint of the S-type is in the MIRROR IMAGE of the footprint of the standard Fatboy.
(2) The S-type has an additional anchor attachment point where the cellphone pocket is on the standard Fatboy. It also has a 2" wide Velcro loop patch on the front lid for attachment of ID patches.
(3) The S-type provides more modular capacity than the standard Fatboy with three anchor attachment points.

The long awaited JUMBO Versipack (#0412) fulfills the multitude of requests for (1) a larger Fatboy with more bells and whistles, and (2) an effective concealed carry system utilizing the Fatboy shoulder sling concept.
Point (1) The JUMBO’s main compartment is over 50% larger than the Fatboy. In addition, it has three zippered accessory pockets, two sleeve pockets, and one drawstring pocket fitted for a 32oz/1L Nalgene water bottle or a radio. The Jumbo has four places for modular expansion with other Maxpedition accessories using Malice clips. External keyper on shoulder strap for gloves and internal silent keyper for keys. We also elected to use a 2” lockable main buckle.
Point (2) The JUMBO’s rear slip compartment is now equipped with large loop Velcro patches to accommodate our Hook & Loop Modular Accessories (e.g. #3501 Universal Modular Holster, sold separately). This allows the user to position their concealed carry firearm for a quick strong side draw or weak side cross draw.

Large yet manageable, the COLOSSUS™ has main and secondary compartments each filled to the gills with internal pockets and dividers. The frontal compartment features an additional lower zipper opening to access items at the bottom. Beaucoup attachment points line both exterior sides while rear and back sleeve compartments both contain 7” x 8” loop fields for CCW accessories allowing users to carry a handgun or three. The Thermite Versipack (#0401) exploded onto center stage in the spring of 2003 as the flagship model of what is now MAXPEDITION’s best-selling Versipack line. This revolutionary new multi-functional bag, designed either to be worn on the waist with a supporting leg strap or shoulder slung, made way for a new genre in tactical nylon: everyday hard-use gear.
The Thermite has one main compartment equipped with a water-resistant storm collar which can be cinched closed and a zippered frontal compartment for PDA and other accessories. An integral sheath with adjustable lid on each side allows for immediate access to two important tools of choice, e.g. flashlight and extra mags.
MAXPEDITION has increased the elasticity and comfort of the removable leg strap and has upgraded the rear mesh cover to a 4-layer high-breathability sandwich material for cooler extended wear. All Thermite Versipacks are also now ambidextrous!

New for 2006, the NeatFreak™ is the ultimate drop-in gear organizer. The spacious main compartment has thirteen (13) built-in pockets, with a Velcro divider that has three (3) additional pockets.
The Velcro divider can accommodate our Hook & Loop Modular Accessories (e.g. #3501 Universal Modular Holster for a full size handgun, sold separately). An adjustable and removable strap allows user to decide which side should face forward and whether the opening points to the left or right. The JANUS™ splices into 2” shoulder straps or waist straps using compatible quick release buckle components, providing additional storage for most customers or elongating a fully extended shoulder/waist strap for larger folks. The extension strap can also be completely removed and used independently of the pouch. The pouch too can be used independently by modular attachment to PALS webbing using a pair of long Malice Clips (also with either side facing outwards, opening left or right).

The Fastex® Grimloc™ Carabiner can be used on any 1" wide piece of webbing and replaces the metal carabiner for attachment of lanyards, weapons, and accessories.
It is fabricated from high strength lightweight plastic, incorporates GhillieTex™ IR-signature reduction technology, and resists solar heating. Its latch is designed with a detent to maintain an open position if needed and, while strong enough to carry equipment, it will break away with a soldier’s weight, eliminating snagging hazards which can cause serious injuries.
The Grimloc™ Carabiner’s release button is textured for ease of use with gloved hands and works as a pump for purging trapped sand or water through integral drain holes. Since the Grimloc™ is made from plastic, it will not serve as a platform for ricochets or become a secondary projectile.

Malice Clips** are reusable, high strength, injection molded connecting clips designed to attach modular pockets to vests, belts, packs, and MAXPEDITION, MOLLE or SPEAR equipment. They are not affected by heat or cold, and will never corrode or lose their subdued finish. Once attached, Malice Clips require a flat-tipped object (screwdriver, car key, knife point, bullet point, or ballpoint pen) to be inserted into the opening slot on the back of the clip to unlock it. The clip will not open until it is disengaged by the user.
Short Malice Clips will fit on most items that use ALICE clips, such as ammo pouches, canteens, and SAW or a first-aid pouch. Short Malice Clips allow the user to securely attach an old pouch to a MOLLE vest. The user may also use Malice Clips to replace old metal clips to connect gear more securely.
