ODV NarcoTest Field Test Kits
Crime laboratories are so busy that drug tests take too long. With the cooperation of the Prosecuting Attorney, many police agencies have turned to presumptive drug testing. If the results indicate that an illegal substance is present, criminal charges may be filed.
NarcoTest® field drug tests are in a tube configuration. All multiple ampoule tests are broken in a bottom to top sequence, agitating after the breakage of each ampoule. Each box includes 10 individual tests.
This product cannot ship to military APO address. A physical address that can accept Fed Ex or UPS shipments is required.
By self-contained, we mean that the test is done inside a tube. The chemicals used to test the drug are pre-measured and are housed inside glass ampoules. There are one or two glass ampoules inside each of the tubes. If it is a one-ampoule test, the glass ampoule is visible in the bottom of the tube. If it is a two-ampoule test, the second ampoule is slightly hidden inside the lid.
To perform the test, remove the lid and place a small sample of the drug inside the tube. Tap the tube to make sure the drug falls to the bottom. Break the first ampoule and shake the tube to mix it with the drug. Watch for color changes. If there is a second ampoule, follow the directions for the individual test as to the timing of the breakage of the second ampoule. Once the second ampoule is broken, shake the tube again and watch for any color changes.
There are ten tests in each box. Each test costs about one dollar each. This is a very economical method of a quick, presumptive test to indicate what type of illegal substance you have found at the scene of a crime, taken from a student at a dance, or purchased from a known seller of narcotics. Many jurisdictions allow for detention of suspects based upon the results of these tests.

7601 - General screening test for controlled substances. Designed as the starting point for sequential testing. If you have a totally unknown substance (tablet, capsule, powder or chunk), the Mayer's Reagent will direct you toward your next field test.
7602 - Marquis Reagent - Presumptive test for MDMA (Ecstasy), Amphetamine type compounds (Amphetamines and Methamphetamine), and for Opium Alkaloids (Heroin and Morphine). To differentiate between Amphetamines and Methamphetamine use the Methamphetamine Reagent #23. To confirm all Heroin (White, Brown or Black tar) use the Mecke's Reagent #24.
7603 - Nitric Acid Reagent - Presumptive test designed to differentiate between Heroin and Morphine. This test is not designed as a Primary Test and we discourage it's use as such. We recommend the use of Mecke's Reagent #24 for Heroin.
7605 - Presumptive test designed to identify Barbiturate in either a table or capsule form. To test tablets, reduce the substance to a powder form. For capsules, open the capsule and remove a small amount of the powder. Place a small amount in the field test. A Lavender color will develop in the presence of Barbiturates.
7606 - Presumptive test designed to identify Methadone. Place a small amount of the substance into the test. Upon breaking and agitating the test, a Dark Blue will develop in the presence of Methadone. In the past, Agencies have used this test to confirm the presence of Amphetamine-type compounds. Please use the Methamphetamine Reagent #923 instead.
7607 - Presumptive test designed to identify d-lysergic acid diethylamide or LSD. Due to the dangerous nature of LSD, take every precaution not to touch or absorb this substance into your system. Upon breakage of the 2nd ampoule a purple color will develop and after breakage and agitation of the 3rd ampoule the color will deepen. We recommend the use of nitrile gloves when handling LSD.
7608 - Presumptive test designed to identify the presence of THC in Marijuana, Hashish or Hash Oil. In both the pouch and tube configuration, break the 1st ampoule and agitate for 60 seconds. Upon breakage of the 2nd ampoule a Blue/Violet color will develop in both styles. The Duquenois-Levine Reagent has a 3rd ampoule and upon breakage and agitation, a layering will occur. The lower layer MUST be Purple for a positive test.
7609 - Presumptive test designed to identify the presence of THC in Marijuana, Hashish or Hash Oil. It is also designed to react with the green leaf material of fresh Marijuana. Upon breakage of the 2nd ampoule, a layering will occur and the lower layer must be a Tomato Red color for a positive test.
7613 - Presumptive test designed to identify Cocaine HCl, Freebase or Crack. The pouch configuration must develop three positive reactions: (1) Blue presence, (2) Pink solution, (3) Pink over Blue layering. The tube configuration will develop a Blue solution after breakage of each ampoule with a sticky Blue residue adhering to the side of the tube. The traditional #7604 Co-Thiocyanate test is also available. However, we recommend using #7613.
7614 – Presumptive test designed to identify the presence of Phencyclidine (PCP) and Methaqualone. Upon breakage and agitation of the first ampoule a Pink color will develop. After breakage and agitation of the 2nd ampoule, a brilliant Blue will develop in the presence of PCP or Methaqualone.
7622 – Presumptive test designed to identify the presence of all forms of Heroin (White, Brown and Black tar). To differentiate between Heroin and Codeine, Heroin will appear as a Purple color following the breakage and agitation of the 2nd ampoule; Codeine will develop a Green color. Oxycodone will develop a Yellow color upon breakage and agitation of the 2nd ampoule.
7623 – Presumptive test designed to identify the presence of Methamphetamine and MDMA (Ecstasy). Upon breakage of all ampoules and agitation, a Dark Blue color confirms the presence of a secondary amine (Methamphetamine or Ecstasy). You can differentiate these substances by using the Marquis Reagent #2 in conjunction with the Sodium Nitroprusside Reagent #23.
7624 – Presumptive test designed to identify the presence of all forms of Heroin (White, Brown and Black tar). Break and agitate the first ampoule for 30 seconds. A Green color will slowly develop as you agitate the test after breakage of the 2nd ampoule.
7625 – Presumptive test designed to identify the presence of Valium, Diazepam, Rohypnol (Roofies) and Ketamine. After breakage and agitation of the two ampoules, a pale Lavender color will develop in the presence of Valium, Diazepam and Rohypnol. A darker Lavender color will develop after the 2nd ampoule in the presence of Ketamine.
7626 – Presumptive test designed to identify the presence of Pentazocine. Pentazocine is the chemical name for Talwin. Upon breakage of the 2nd ampoule, a bright Blue will appear instantly in the presence of Pentazocine.
